The Dallas Cowboys announced Saturday that they’ve placed C Joe Looney and T Tyron Smith on injured reserve and activated CB Anthony Brown.
The Cowboys also signed LB Francis Bernard to their active roster and elevated C Marcus Henry and DB Stephen Parker to their active roster.
Smith, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2011. He signed a ten-year, $109 million contract with Dallas back in 2014 that includes $40 million guaranteed.
Smith was set to make a base salary of $10 million for the 2020 season until he reworked his deal back in August.
In 2020, Smith started two games for the Cowboys at left tackle.
Brown, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2016. He just finished the final year of his four-year, $2.47 million contract and re-signed him to a three-year back in March.
In 2019, Brown appeared in nine games for the Cowboys and recorded 17 tackles, no interceptions and five pass defenses.
Bernard, 25, signed on with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent back in April out of Utah. He was among Dallas’ final roster cuts coming out of training camp and later re-signed to their practice squad.
In 2020, Bernard has appeared in one game for the Cowboys and recorded one tackle.
During his three-year college career at BYU and Utah, Bernard recorded 164 total tackles, 13 tackles for loss, two sacks, five interceptions, four pass defenses, one fumble recovery, two forced fumbles, and scored one defensive touchdown.
