The Dallas Cowboys officially promoted LB Tre’von Johnson to their active roster on Wednesday.
Johnson, 22, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Weber State back in May. He was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract when the Cowboys cut him loose coming out of the preseason.
The Cowboys signed him to their practice squad a few weeks into the regular season.
During his four-year college career, Johnson appeared inย 46 games and recordedย 258 tackles, 27 tackles for loss, nine sacks, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. He was a first-team All-Big Sky selection in 2016.
