According to Aaron Wilson, the Cowboys hosted four free-agents for workouts on Wednesday, including veteran TE Erik Swoope.
The full list of tryouts includes:
- QB Jalen Morton
- TE Cheyenne O’Grady
- TE Erik Swoope
- OT Jared Veldheer
Swoope, 28, wound up signing on with the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of Miami back in 2014. He was on and off of the Colts’ practice squad and re-signed on two consecutive exclusive rights contracts for the 2017 and 2018 seasons.
He then had a brief stint with the Saints before returning to the Colts. From there, Swoope joined the Raiders this past May but was waived a few months later.
The 49ers signed him to a one-year deal in August, but cut him loose coming out of training camp.
In 2018, Swoope appeared in seven games for the Colts and caught eight passes for 87 yards receiving and three touchdowns.
