Dolphins Cut RB Daniel Thomas & RB/KR Marcus Thigpen

Andrew Abramson of the Palm Beach Post reports that the Dolphins have cut pick RB Daniel Thomas and KR Marcus Thigpen.

Thomas, 26, is a former second-round pick, who never lived up to his draft status and has been largely underwhelming in each of his first three years in the league.

He was reportedly competing for a roster spot with Mike Gillislee, so it’s really not a surprise to see the Dolphins finally move in a new direction.

Thomas is entering the final year of his rookie contract and is set to make $816,321 for the upcoming season.

Last season, Thomas ran for 406 yards on 109 carries (3.7 YPC) and contributed six total touchdowns.
