Dolphins Officially Sign 7 AAF Players

The Miami Dolphins announced Tuesday that they’ve officially signed seven former AAF players to contracts.

The full list includes:

  1. G Michael Dunn
  2. LB Jayrone Elliott
  3. RB Kenneth Farrow
  4. T Jaryd Jones-Smith
  5. LB Tyrone Holmes
  6. WR Reece Horn
  7. DT Joey Mbu

Elliott, 27, wound up signing on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out Toledo back in 2014. He played out the final year of his three-year, $1,535,000 rookie contract with the Packers but did not receive a restricted offer from the team, which is why he’s been testing the open market.

Elliott re-signed with the Packers this offseason but was traded to the Cowboys at the start of the regular season for a conditional seventh-round pick in 2018. Dallas elected to cut Elliott loose after a few weeks.

In 2017, Elliott appeared in one game for the Cowboys and did not record a stat.

Farrow, 26, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of Houston back in 2016. He managed to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason in 2017, but was waived last year.

The Patriots signed Farrow to a contract for their final preseason game but released him a few days later. Farrow was on and off of the Patriots’ practice squad in 2018.

In 2016, Farrow appeared in 13 games and rushed for 192 yards on 60 carries (3.2 YPC) to go along with 13 receptions for 70 yards receiving and no touchdowns.

Holmes, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2016. He was, unfortunately, waived coming out of the preseason last year and later claimed off of waivers by the Browns.

After a few months with the Browns, Holmes signed on to the Chiefs’ practice squad and returned to Kansas City on a futures contract. However, he was waived coming out of the preseason last year and eventually added to the Chargers’ practice squad.

In 2017, Holmes appeared in four games for the Browns and recorded three total tackles and no sacks.
