Dolphins Picking Up WR DeVante Parker’s Fifth-Year Option

According to Barry Jackson, the Dolphins are picking up WR DeVante Parker‘s fifth-year option.

The fifth-year option will cost the Dolphins $9,387,000 for the 2019 season. It’s worth mentioning that the fifth-year option is only guaranteed for injury and won’t prevent the two parties from working on a long-term extension in the next year or so.

Parker, 25, is a former first-round pick out of Louisville by the Dolphins in the 2015 NFL Draft. He is entering the final year of a four-year $ 10.876 million rookie contract and is set to earn a base salary of $1,918,164 in 2018.

In 2017, Parker appeared in 13 games for the Dolphins and recorded 57 receptions for 670 yards receiving (11.8 YPC) and one touchdown. Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 53 receiver out of 116 qualifying players.
