Dolphins Promote LB Neville Hewitt From PS

According to Armando Salguero, the Dolphins promoted LB Neville Hewitt from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.

Hewitt, 24, signed on with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Marshall back in May of 2015. He is in the final year of a  three-year, $1.576 million contract and is set to earn a base salary of $615,000 this season.

He was among the team’s final roster cuts coming out of the preseason, but signed to Miami’s practice squad once clearing waivers.

In 2016, Hewitt appeared in all 16 games for the Dolphins and recorded 64 total tackles, one sack, and recovered one fumble.
