Dolphins Promoting DT Cameron Malveaux, Signing DT Garrison Smith To PS

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that the Dolphins are planning to promote DL Cameron Malveaux to their active roster.

  • This comes shortly after the news that the Dolphins have waived former second-round DT Jordan Phillips (NFLTR).
  • The Dolphins are also signing Garrison Smith to their practice squad, according to David Canter.

The Dolphins’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. G Isaac Asiata
  2. WR Leonte Carroo
  3. WR Isaiah Ford
  4. CB Jalen Davis
  5. C Connor Holland
  6. DL Jamiyus Pittman
  7. LB Quentin Poling
  8. TE Nick O’Leary
  9. DE Jeremiah Valoaga
  10. DT Garrison Smith

Malveaux, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Houston back in May of last year. He was waived coming out of the preseason and later signed him to their practice squad.

The Dolphins eventually promoted Malveaux to their active roster last year, but he was once again among the team’s final roster cuts. Malveaux returned to the Dolphins and signed on to their practice squad last week.

In 2017, Malveaux appeared in four games for the Dolphins and recorded five tackles and a sack.
