Armando Salguero reports that the Dolphins are releasing DE Andre Branch and G Ted Larsen on Thursday.
Reports out of Miami have said for months now that Branch was among a number of players who could be cap casualties this offseason, so this isn’t a big surprise.
Branch, 29, is a former second-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2012. He played out his rookie contract with the Jaguars before signing a one-year, $3 million contract with the Dolphins in 2016.
From there, Branch agreed to return to Miami on a three-year, $27 million contract the following year.
According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Branch will free up $7 million of available cap space while creating $2 million in dead money.
In 2018, Brach appeared in 14 games for the Dolphins and recorded 25 tackles, 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble, a recovery and a pass defense.
