Dolphins Sign OT Antonio Garcia To PS, Release DE Dewayne Hendrix

The Miami Dolphins have signed OT Antonio Garcia to their practice squad on Monday and released DE Dewayne Hendrix from the unit, according to Barry Jackson

Here’s the Dolphins updated practice squad:

  1. QB Jake Rudock
  2. DT Durval Queiroz (International)
  3. C Nik Needham
  4. LB Terrill Hanks
  5. DB Montre Hartage
  6. TE Chris Myarick
  7. OT Chidi Okeke
  8. WR T.J. Rahming
  9. WR Andy Jones
  10. DT Gerald Willis
  11. OL Antonio Garcia

Garcia, 25, was drafted by the Patriots with the No. 85 overall pick in the third round of the 2017 draft after they elected to trade up from No. 96 with the Lions. Unfortunately, Garcia missed his entire rookie season due to blood clots in his lungs and the Patriots elected to waive him with a non-football injury shortly after the 2018 draft.

The Jets claimed Garcia off waivers, but he was among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason. The Colts signed him to their practice squad in October, then brought him back on a futures deal for 2019 before cutting him loose in August.

During his four-year college career at Troy, Garcia earned first-team All-Sun Belt honors last season and received an All-Sun Belt honorable mention in 2015.

Garcia has yet to appear in an NFL game.
