According to Mike Garafolo, the Eagles are activating WR Alshon Jeffery from the physically unable to perform list on Saturday.
Earlier today, Jeff McLane reported that the Eagles are still looking to trade Jeffery this offseason. However, he mentioned that the receiver’s $9.91 million base salary for 2020 and Lisfranc injury make it “improbable” that he gets dealt.
Perhaps Jeffery coming off Philadelphia’s PUP list helps them find more potential trade partners.
Jeffery, 30, was taken in the second round of the 2012 NFL draft by the Bears. He played out the final year of his four-year, $4.54 million rookie contract with Chicago before agreeing to a one-year, $9.5 million contract with the Eagles in 2017.
He’s entering the third year of his four-year, $52 million contract and set to earn base salaries of $9,910,000 and $12,750,000 over the next two years.
Jeffery was placed on the active/PUP list back in July after undergoing foot surgery.
In 2019, Jeffery appeared in 10 games for the Eagles and caught 43 passes for 490 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed for two yards and a touchdown.
