Eagles Sign G Andrew Gardner To 3-Year, $4.7M Contract Extension

Adam Caplan reports that the Eagles and starting RG Andrew Gardner have agreed to a three-year contract extension through the 2018 season on Tuesday.

  • Ian Rapoport reports that the base value of Gardner’s three year contract is $4.7 million, and includes $500,000 signing bonus.
  • Rapoport adds that incentives can push the deal “much higher.”

Gardner, 29, is a former sixth-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2009. He later caught on with the Texans where he played three seasons.

Prior to joining the Eagles, Gardner had not started for an NFL team.

Gardney was in the final year of his two-year $1.485 million contract that includes a $10,000 signing bonus.

In 2014, Gardner started in eight games and appeared in all 16 games of the season. Pro Football Focus ranked him as the No. 34 overall guard, out of 78 qualifiers.
