Jimmy Kempski of PhillyVoice is reporting that the Eagles are close to an agreement on a contract with veteran CBย Patrick Robinson.
It’s worth mentioning that signing Robinson to a contract won’t impact a team’s compensatory picks, considering that he was released.
Robinson, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Saints back in 2010. He spent five years in New Orleans before signing a three-year, $14 million contract with the Colts that included $6 million guaranteed.
Unfortunately, the Colts released him in a move that freed up $2.5 millionย a few weeks ago.
In 2016, Robinson has appeared in seven games and totaled 26 tackles, a forced fumble, no interceptions and five pass defenses.ย Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 94 cornerback out of 112 qualifying players.
We had him featured in ourย Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
