Adam Schefter reports that Eagles RB Darren Sproles reaggravated his hamstring injury his hamstring up returning to practice and is now expected to be sidelined for an undisclosed period of time.
Schefter adds that both Sproles and the Eagles were “highly disappointed” by the news.
Eagles HC Doug Pederson said he expected Sproles to return for Sunday’s game against the Cowboys.
Sproles, 35, is a former fourth-round pick of the Chargers back in 2005. He spent five years in San Diego before signing on with the Saints in 2011. New Orleans later traded him to the Eagles for the 2014 season.
Sproles played out the final year of his two-year, $8 million contract before signing a one-year, $1.415 million contract with the Eagles this past April.
In 2018, Sproles has appeared in one game for the Eagles and rushed for 10 yards on five carries to go along with four receptions for 22 yards and no touchdowns.
