Eagles Re-Sign RB Darren Sproles

Eagles executive VP Howie Roseman announced Saturday that they’ve re-signed veteran RBĀ Darren Sproles to a contract.

Sproles, 34, is a former fourth-round pick of the Chargers back in 2005. He spent five years in San Diego before signing on with the Saints in 2011. New Orleans later traded him to the Eagles for the 2014 season.

Sproles is in the final year of his two-year, $8 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $4 million for the 2017 season. He’ll be an unrestricted free agent in 2018.

In 2017, Sproles had appeared in three games and rushed for 61 yards on 15 carries (4.1 YPC) to go along with seven receptions for 73 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
