The Eagles announced Tuesday they’ve placed DE Joe Ostman on injured reserve and signed DE Kasim Edebali to take his place on the 90-man roster.
- The Eagles also signed CB Ajene Harris and waived OT Casey Tucker with an injury designation.
Ostman had been having another strong training camp by all accounts, but still might not have made the team given the Eagles’ depth at defensive end. He’ll now stay in Philadelphia for at least another year.
Edebali, 29, wound up signing on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Boston College back in 2014. He managed to make the 53-man roster in all three of his seasons with the Saints and played out the final year of his three-year, $1,536,000 contract.
New Orleans declined to tender him a restricted offer in 2017 and he later signed a one-year, $1.2 million contract with the Broncos. Edebali had brief stints with the Lions and Rams before he was claimed off waivers from the Saints and finished out the year in New Orleans.
Edebali signed with the Bears for the 2018 season, however, Chicago released him during final roster cuts at the end of the preseason. He caught on with the Bengals in November.
In 2018, Edebali appeared in one game for the Bengals, but did not record a stat.
