Eagles Waive TE Hakeem Butler, Promote Two

The Philadelphia Eagles announced that they are waiving TE Hakeem Butler and promoting CB Michael Jacquet and DT Raequan Williams from the practice squad to their active roster.

Butler, 24, is a former fourth-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2019. He signed a four-year rookie deal worth $3.3 million with Arizona. However, Butler was placed on injured reserve last year before being waived coming out of training camp.

The Panthers signed him to their practice squad last month and was claimed off the taxi squad by the Eagles a couple of weeks later.

During his college career at Iowa State, Butler caught 110 passes for 2,149 yards receiving and 18 touchdowns over the course of 34 games and three seasons.
