Falcons Sign CB Hamp Cheevers, Cut LS Kyle Vasey

The Atlanta Falcons announced Friday that they’ve signed CB Hamp Cheevers to a contract and released LS Kyle Vasey.

Cheevers wound up going undrafted out of Boston College back in May. He later signed a three-year, $1.755 million contract with the Titans, but was waived with a with an injury designation soon after. 

Cheevers reverted to the Titans’ injured reserve list before eventually being waived with a settlement.

During his college career at Boston College, Cheevers recorded 55 tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss, nine interceptions, one defensive touchdown, two forced fumbles, a recovery and 10 pass defenses over the course of two years and 17 games.
