Falcons Sign DE Nordly Capi & G Michael Huey, Waive DE Josh Dawson

The Atlanta Falcons announced Tuesday that they’ve signed DE Nordly Capi and G Michael Huey to contracts and placed DE Josh Dawson on waivers.

Huey, 27, originally signed on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of back in 2011. He later signed a three-year contract with the Chargers, but was unable to make their final 53-man roster in 2011.

After a brief stint with the Redskins in 2014, Huey returned to the Chargers as an unrestricted free agent and returned on a future/reserve contract back in January. Unfortunately, the Chargers cut him loose close to a month ago.

Huey has yet to appear in an NFL game.

Capi, 23, originally signed on with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of Akron back in May of last year. He was unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but later signed on to the Ravens’ practice squad.

Baltimore elected to bring Capi back in a future/reserve contract after the season, but he was cut loose a few weeks after the draft.

Capi has yet to appear in an NFL game.
