Former Broncos and Buccaneers S Darian Stewart announced Thursday he has decided to retire from the NFL.
Stewart, 32, originally signed on with the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of back in 2010. He spent four years with the Rams before joining the Ravens for the 2014 season.
The Broncos would later signed Stewart to a contract in 2015 and he agree to a four-year contract extension worth $28 million in 2016. He was set to make base salaries of $4.75 million over the final two years of the agreement when the Broncos released him in 2019. He later signed on with the Buccaneers.
During his 10-year career with the Rams, Ravens, Broncos and Buccaneers, Stewart recorded 453 total tackles, five sacks, six forced fumbles and six recoveries, 11 interceptions including one returned for a touchdown and 46 pass defenses.
He was a key piece of the Broncos defense when they won Super Bowl 50 following the 2015 season and made the Pro Bowl in 2016.
