Ralph Vacchiano of SNY reports that free agent DEย Howard Jones plans to visit a few more teams before deciding on who he’ll be signing with.
Jones recently visited with the Jets and Vacchiano adds that they are still in the mix for him right now.
The Jets are the only team we’ve seen connected to Jones since the free agent market opened a few weeks ago, but there should be more regarding his market once he sets up some more visits.
Jones, 27, originally signed on with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent out of Shepherd back in 2014. He lasted just over a year in Pittsburgh before he was waived at the start of the 2015 season and later signed to the Buccaneers’ practice squad.
Tampa Bay declined to tender him a contract last week, which is why he’s testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent.
In 2016, Jones appeared in eight games for the Buccaneers and recorded three tackles and fumble a recovery.
