In an interview with Sirius XM NFL Radio, free agent Sย Dashon Goldson mentioned that he’s reached out to the Rams and Raiders about a potential opportunity with them.
- Goldson added that he’s hoping to finish out his NFL career on the West Coast.
The Rams actually broughtย Goldson in a for a visit last week, but there hasn’t been any updates regarding a potential agreement between the two since then. Los Angelesย previously showed some interest in free agent Sย Donte Whitner back in April,ย so they’re clearly in the market for a safety.
As for the Raiders, they have already signed veteran S Reggie Nelson and used their first-round pick on Karl Joseph, so it’s unlikely that they’ll be an option, barring an injury.
The Cowboys came up as a potential option for Goldson and a return to theย Redskinsย was also mentioned as a possibility. Although, that was back in March, and the two teams may feel comfortable about their current depth at the position.
Goldson, 31, was in the the fourth year of hisย five-year, $41.25 million contractย that includedย $22 million guaranteedย when he was released in a move that freedย up $8 millionย in available cap spaceย for the Redskins.
In 2015, Goldson appeared in 15 games for the Redskins and recorded 110 tackles, one interception returned for a touchdown, a forced fumble and three pass defenses for Washington.
We have him featuredย in ourย Best Available Free Agents list.
