Dan Graziano of ESPN is reporting that the Giants have also placed veteran OLย Geoff Schwartz andย LB Terrell Manning on season-ending injured reserve.
This comes not long after news broke thatย DE Robert Ayers, DE Mathias Kiwanuka andย OL Adam Snyderย were being placed on the injured reserve list Tuesday.
There was some optimism thatย Schwartz’s recentย ankle injury wasn’t going to cost the remainder of the season, but it appears as though the Giants would prefer him to get 100 percent healthy for next year.
Schwartz, 28, signedย four-year, $16.8 million contractย that includedย $6.2 million guaranteed with the Giants back in March.
New Yorkย signedย Manning off of the Cincinnatiย Bengals’ practice squad close to a week ago, so his time with the team was short lived in 2014.
Manning, 24, is a formerย fifth-round pick of the Green Bay Packers back in 2012. However, he lasted just one year with the team before he was placed on waivers.
Since then,ย Manning has played for the Chargers, Vikings, Giants, Dolphins, Bears and Bengals, which is not exactly a good thing given how long he’s been in the NFL.
This season, Manning has appeared in three games and has recorded a single tackle.
