Giants Place QB Alex Tanney On NFI List, Claim DB Shakial Taylor

The New York Giants officially claimed DB Shakial Taylor off of waivers from the Broncos and placed QB Alex Tanney on the non-football illness list.

The Giants also placed LB Tae Crowder on the active/non-football injury list.

Tanney, 32, originally signed on with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of Monmouth back in 2012. Since then, he’s had brief stints with the Cowboys, Browns, Buccaneers, Titans, Bills and Colts before being signed to the Titans’ active roster at end of the 2015 season.

Tanney spent time on the Titans’ practice squad before eventually being called up. However, the Titans elected to cut him loose in 2018 and he later signed on with the Giants in May. Tanney re-signed in New York last offseason and excited his 2020 option in March.

In 2015, Tanney appeared in one game for the Titans and completed 10 of 14 pass attempts for 99 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions.
