The New York Giants promoted DB Brandon McGee from their practice squad and placed TE Jerome Cunningham on waivers Monday, according to the NFL transactions release.
The Giants signed CB Brandon McGee to their practice squad on Thursday, but it appears as though they wanted to bolster their cornerback on their active roster.
McGee, 24, was taken by the Rams in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL draft. He was unfortunately among the team’s roster cuts over to a month ago, but later returned to the team’s practice squad. St. Louis elected to cut him loose again a few weeks ago.
Last year, McGee appeared in two games for St. Louis and recorded four tackles.
