Giants Sign DB Orion Stewart

The New York Giants announced Thursday that they’ve signed DB Orion Stewart to a contract.

Stewart, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Baylor back in May. He was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract when the Broncos cut him loose coming out of the preseason.

The Bills later signed him to their practice squad before cutting him loose in October. Peters later caught on with the Redskins and finished out the season in Washington. Stewart returned to the Redskins on a futures deal this past January but was cut loose last month.

During his college career at Baylor, Stewart recorded 260 tackles, 6.5 tackles for a loss, two sacks, 12 interceptions with two of them being returned for touchdowns, a forced fumble, three recoveries and 14 pass defenses over the course of 46 games.
