Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Giants have released K Chandler Catanzaro on Monday and signed K Graham Gano to a contract.
Gano, 33, originally signed on with Washington as an undrafted free agent out of Florida State back in 2009. He spent three years in Washington before signing on with the Panthers for the 2012 season.
Gano played out the final year of his four-year, $12.4 million contract before agreeing to a four-year, $17 million contract with $9 million guaranteed with the Panthers in 2018. Carolina opted to release him last month.
In 2018, Gano converted 14 of 16 field goal attempts (87.5 percent) to go along with 30 of 33 extra point tries (90.9 percent).
Catanzaro, 29, signed on with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of Clemson back in 2014. He has spent his first three years of his career with the Cardinals before they elected to not tender him a contract.
The Jets later signed him to a one-year contract and after a year in New York, Catanzaro agreed to a contract with the Buccaneers. The Bucs waived him in November and he later returned to the Jets last year.
The Giants lured Catanzaro out of retirement last month.
For his career, Catanzaro converted 119 of 142 field goal attempts (83.8 percent) to go along with 182 of 196 extra point tries (92.9 percent) over the course of five seasons.
