Giants Place DE Owa Odighizuwa, Promote TE Jerome Cunningham

Update:

The Giants announced that they’ve placed DE Owa Odighizuwa on injured reserve with the designation to return.

• The Giants also signed CB Dax Swanson to their practice squad.

This move will keep Odighizuwa out of the lineup until Week 17.

The New York Giants are signing TE Jerome Cunningham to their active roster on Thursday, according to his agent.

Cunningham, 24, originally signed on with the Giants as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Connecticut Stat back in August of last year. He was unfortunately unable to make the 53-man roster that year, but was later added to their practice squad.

This year, Cunningham was able to make the team coming out of the preseason, but he lasted until a few weeks ago when he was waived and once again signed to their practice squad.

He has appeared in one game this season and recorded a single catch for three yards.
