Giants Waive RB Michael Cox

The New York Giants have placed RB Michael Cox on waivers Monday, according to Paul Schwartz.

Cox, 25, had two years remaining on his four-year, $2.21 million contract, which includes base salaries of $585,000 (2015) and $675,000 (2016).

According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Cox will free up $585,000 in available cap space while creating no dead money.

In 2014, Cox appeared in four games for the Giants and ran for 33 yards on four carries (8.3 YPC) to go along with two receptions for nine yards receiving. Cox also contributed on special teams as a kick returner.
