Green Bay Signs A Running Back

After finding out that they have lost Ryan Grant for the season, the Green Bay Packers have decided to sign Dimitri Nance off of the Atlanta Falcons practice squad. This report comes from Rob Demovsky of the Green Bay Press-Gazette.

It looks the Packers have decided to roll dice again and attempt to go with a young player off of a teams practice squad which is how the Packers found Grant in the first place.

The Falcons tried to keep Nance but he chose to leave for greener pastures. No pun intended.

The team has also announced that they have signed defensive end Jairus Wynn after placing Justin Harrell on the IR list.

The biggest blow of week 1 has been dealt to the Green Bay Packers. Fox Sports Jay Glazer reports that Ryan Grant has a “severe ankle sprain” that has resulted in a fracture near his knee. Adam Schefter has also confirmed the bad news and added that the injury will require surgery that will leave him out for 10-12 weeks.

The Packers have very limited depth at the running back position. Brandon Jackson is the team’s backup running back and hasn’t shown the explosiveness that Grant has. The Packers will be forced to address the teams limited depth at the position in the coming days.

Willie Parker could be an option for the team since he was released by the Redskins before the season started.
