Jaguars Claim DB Teddy Williams Off Waivers From Bears, Cut LB Dekoda Watson

The Jacksonville Jaguars claimed DB Teddy Williams off of waivers from the Chicago Bears on Tuesday.

Chicago waived Williams on Monday following their blowout loss to the Packers.

Williams, 26, was signed off of the Cardinals’ practice close to two weeks ago. He originally signed on with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Texas-San Antonio back in 2010.

Williams spent two years with Dallas before he was eventually placed on waivers and signed to the Colts’ practice squad. Arizona signed him as a free agent and later stashed him on their practice squad.

This season, Williams has appeared in five games and recorded two tackles.

Watson, 26, is a former seventh-round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He spent four years with the Bucs before signing a three-year, $6.25 million contract with Jacksonville back in March.

He has appeared in nine games and recorded 14 total tackles this season.
