According to Tyler Dunne, the Jaguars are in the process of trading S Ronnie Harrison.
Harrison would be the second projected starter to be dealt by Jacksonville after they shipped out DE Yannick Ngakoue.
Unlike Ngakoue, Harrison appeared to be content going into just his third season with the team. On the surface, dealing away Harrison doesn’t appear to reconcile with Jacksonville’s assertion it’s not tanking in 2020.
Mark Long says Jacksonville has been impressed with S Josh Jones, who was a former second-round pick by the Packers in 2017 and has bounced around a few teams.
Harrison, 23, was selected with the No. 93 overall pick out of Alabama by the Jaguars in 2018. He agreed to a four-year, $3,263,032 contract that includes an $803,032 signing bonus.
In 2019, Harrison appeared in 14 games for the Jaguars and recorded 71 tackles, two sacks, one fumble recovery, two interceptions and nine pass defenses. Pro Football Focus rated Harrison as the No. 65 safety out of 83 qualifying players.
We’ll have more on Harrison as the news is available.
