The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Wednesday that they’ve placed CB Tre Herndon on the COVID-19 list and C Brandon Linder (ankle) on injured reserve.

It’s worth mentioning that the NFL changed the rules regarding injured reserve for the 2020 season and players can return from the list in just three weeks.

The COVID-19 list was created this summer for a player who either tests positive for or who has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons.

Players will remain on the list until they are medically cleared to return.

Linder, 28, is a former third-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2014. He was entering the final year of his rookie contract when he agreed to a six-year, $52.4 million contract that included $24 million guaranteed with the Jaguars in 2017.

Linder stands to make a base salary of $7 million for the 2020 season.

In 2020, Linder has appeared in nine games for the Jaguars, making nine starts.
