Jaguars Sign K Kai Forbath, Place LB Leon Jacobs On IR

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Jaguars have signed K Kai Forbath to a contract on Friday withย Josh Lambo with a groin injury.

Jacksonville also announced that they’ve placed LB Leon Jacobs on injured reserve with aย quadriceps injury.

The Jaguars reportedly brought in free agent kickers including Forbath,ย Caleb Sturgis and Marshall Koehn for tryouts in recent days.

Forbath, 30, originally signed on with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of back in 2011.ย Forbath had a brief stint with the Buccaneers before joining the Redskins for the 2012 season. After three years in Washington, Forbath signed on with the Saints during the 2015 season and returned to New Orleans on a one-year contract the following year.

The Vikings signed Forbath to aย two-year contract is worth $1.1 million towards the end of the 2016 season. He returned to the Vikings this past March on a one-year contract but was released during the preseason.

In 2017, Forbath appeared in all 16 games for the Vikings and converted 32 of 38 field goal attempts (84.2 percent) to go along with 34 of 39 extra point attempts (87.2 percent) and 44 touchbacks.
