Jaguars Sign RB Thomas Rawls To Futures Deal

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Jaguars have signed RB Thomas Rawls to a futures contract for the 2019 season.

As of now, the Jaguars have signed five players to futures deals including:

  1. OL K.C. McDermott
  2. TE Pharoah McKever
  3. LS Christian Kuntz
  4. WR C.J. Board
  5. RB Thomas Rawls

Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.

Rawls, 25, wound up signing on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Central Michigan back in May of last year. He played out the final year of his three-year, $1.59 million rookie contract but was not tendered a restricted offer by the Seahawks.

Rawls signed on with the Jets this past March but was among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason. The Bengals signed him to a contract a few weeks ago only to cut him loose earlier in the week.

In 2017, Rawls appeared in 12 games for the Seahawks and rushed for 157 yards on 58 carries (2.7 YPC) to go along with nine receptions for 94 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
