A New York Jets spokesman announced after Sunday’s win over the Bills that both HC Todd Bowles and GM Mike Maccagnanย will return for the 2017 season, per Brian Costello.
This doesn’t come as a big surprise, as reports have said for a few weeks now that no major changes are expected for the Jets next season.ย Although, it’s possible that a few members of the coaching staff may not be back including OC Chan Gailey.
In 2015, the Jets surprised people by posting a 10-win season, but the team has really struggled on both sides of the ball this season and there are questions about the team’s overall talent. There’s no question that the pressure will be on the Jets next year to show major improvement on both sides of the ball and find a quarterback to build around in the coming years.
Bowles, 52, was hired by the Jets last year after spending two years as the Cardinals’ defensive coordinator. He has led the Jets to a record of 14 and 17 (45.2 percent) and no playoff appearances.
