The New York Jets announced Wednesday that they’ve officially hired Dowell Loggains as their new offensive coordinator under Adam Gase.
Loggains actually interviewed for the Dolphins’ head-coaching job, but reports had said that he was likely to end up with the Jets.
Loggains, 38, began his NFL coaching career with the Titans as an offensive quality control coordinator back in 2008. He managed to work his way up to offensive coordinator before joining the Browns’ coaching staff in 2014.
After one year with the Browns, Loggains was hired as the Bears QBs coach and eventually promoted to offensive coordinator two years ago. The Dolphins hired him as their offensive coordinator last year.
In 2018, the Dolphins’ offense ranked No. 31 in total yards, No. 26 in points scored, No. 18 in rushing yards and No. 30 in passing yards.
