According to Ian Rapoport, the Jets are re-signing LB Neville Hewitt.
The deal is for one year and $2 million per Adam Schefter.
Hewitt was pressed into the starting lineup for New York last season after injuries to both starting inside linebackers.
Hewitt, 26, signed on with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Marshall back in May of 2015. He was in the final year of a three-year, $1.576 million contract and set to earn a base salary of $615,000 for the 2017 season when he was waived by Miami coming out of the preseason.
The Jets signed Hewitt to a one-year contract in 2018 and re-signed him again heading into 2019.
In 2018, Hewitt appeared in 12 games for the Jets and recorded 74 tackles, three sacks, two interceptions and five pass defenses. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 84 linebacker out of 89 qualifying players.
