Jets Release RB Khiry Robinson

According to Josina Anderson, the Jets have released RB Khiry Robinson.

The Jets placed Robinson on the season-ending injured reserve in December after he broke his leg for the third time.

Robinson, 27, wound up signing on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of West Texas A&M back in 2013. He managed to make the team’s 53-man roster in all three years with the Saints.

The Jets ultimately signed him to a one-year, $1.175 million contract as a free agent last year. However, he was waived with an injury designation coming out of the preseason.

New York later signed him to a two-year, $1,950,000 deal and was set to make a base salary of $775,000 next season.

In 2016, Robinson appeared in one game and ran for 22 yards on eight carries (2.8 YPC) and no touchdowns.
