Jets Release S J.J. Wilcox, Activate CB Rashard Robinson

The New York Jets announced Monday that they’ve released veteran S J.J. Wilcox and activated CB Rashard Robinson from suspension.

Wilcox, 27, is a former third-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2013. He has played out his four-year, $2,811,068 contract with the Cowboys before signing a two-contract with the Buccaneers worth up to $8.5 million.

The Buccaneers traded him to the Steelers at the start of the 2017 season for a 2018 sixth-round pick. Wilcox was set to make a base salary of $3.125 million for the 2018 season when the Steelers released him during the offseason.

Wilcox later signed on with the Jets this past June.

In 2018, Wilcox has appeared in five games for the Jets and recorded three tackles and no interceptions.
