The New York Jets announcedย that they’ve signed DBย Kendall James to future/reserve contract on Thursday.

James becomes the 10th players the Jets have signed future’s contracts. The full list includes:
- TEย Brandon Bostick
- WR Joe Anderson
- OLB Deion Barnes
- G Jarvis Harrison
- OLB Julian Howsare
- TE Wes Saxton
- CB Kevin Short
- NT Deon Simon
- OLB Julian Stanford
Future/reserve contracts are essentially an opportunity for players compete for a roster spot in offseason workouts and training camp.
James, 24,ย is a former sixth-round pick of the Vikings back in May of 2014. He was, unfortunately, unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but was later added to the Vikings’ practice squad.
He has brief stints with the Texans and Chargers before later signing a future/reserve contract with the Browns in December of last year.
James was once again unable to make the Browns’ 53-man roster at the start of the regular season, and was eventually released from the team’s practice just a week ago.
James has yet to appear in an NFL game.
