Jets Sign DL Charles Tapper & DB Tevaughn Campbell To Futures Deals

The New York Jets announced Friday that they’ve signed DL Charles Tapper and DB Tevaughn Campbell to futures contracts for the 2019 season.

As of now, the Jets have signed five players to futures deals including:

  1. OT Dieugot Joseph
  2. C Jon Toth
  3. WR DeAngelo Yancey
  4. DE Charles Tapper
  5. DB Tevaughn Campbell

Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.

Tapper, 25, is a former fourth-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2016. He was in the third year of his four-year, $2.95 million contract and set to make base salaries of $630,000 and $720,000 over the next two years when the Cowboys cut him loose this past weekend.

Dallas later re-signed Tapper to their practice squad, but was released a few days later.

In 2017, Tapper appeared in two games and recorded three tackles and a sack for the Cowboys.
