Jets Sign LB Bryan Johnson, Waive TE Steve Maneri

The New York Jets have announced that they have signed LB Bryan Johnson, and waived TE Steve Maneri on Tuesday.

Johnson, 27, was apart of the Bills‘ practice squad as a defensive end in 2014. Buffalo released him in June, after signing Johnson to a reserve/future contract back in December. At this point in time, Johnson has not recorded any NFL stats.

Maneri, 27, began his career as an offensive tackle, but converted to a tight end in 2012 with the Chiefs. In his five seasons in the NFL, Maneri has spent time with the Texans, Patriots, Chiefs, Bears, Buccaneers, and the Jets. During his career, he has appeared in 24 total games and has recorded six catches for 62 yards.

Johnson will be competing for a roster spot with the Jets.
