Rich Cimini of ESPN New York confirms that the Jets waived RB Alex Green on Friday to make room for RB Daryl Richardson who was claimed off of waivers.
Green posted on his Twitter account that it’s “time to officially move on, life goes on regardless.”
Green, 25, is a former third-round pick of the Packers who was claimed off of waivers by the Jets last September.
He has struggled to be effective during his three years in the NFL. Last season, he saw 11 carries and totaled just 35 yards rushing.
There’s a chance he will catch on with someone ahead of training camp, but his number of opportunities could be running out.
