The Associated Press reports that the Arizona Cardinals will start John Skelton against the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday.
The decision was made prior to Kevin Kolb‘s rib injury that he suffered during the Hall of Fame game last Sunday.
This is a clear indication that the Cardinals coaching staff sees this as a true quarterback competition. Skelton looked to be the more productive player on Saturday, but it’s hard to gauge a players overall effectiveness after a single preseason game. Kolb will play against the Chiefs as well, so it will be imperative that he displays some improvements.
