Dan Pompei of the National Football Post writes that current Broncos RB Knowshon Moreno is a candidate to be released in the coming days.
Pompei points to the fact that Moreno has failed to live up to the expectations of being the 12th overall pick back in 2009.
He has a cap figure of $3.28 million for next season, so there’s a chance that they could move on and look for a replacement at some point during the offseason.
Moreno, 25, is entering the final year of his rookie contract. He’s produced 2,430 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns in three years with the Broncos, and even showed some signs of improvement towards the end of the 2012 season.
