Lions Placing LB Jahlani Tavai On Injured Reserve

Lions HC Matt Patricia announced Monday that they’re placing rookie LB Jahlani Tavai on injured reserve with a shoulder injury. 

Tavai, 23, was taken in the second round of this year’s draft by the Lions. He’s currently in the first year of his four-year, $6.9 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $808,362 and $1,071,724 over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2019, Tavai appeared in 15 games for the Lions and recorded 58 tackles, two sacks, an interception, a forced fumble and two pass defenses.
