Lions RB Jahvid Best Could Sit Out The Remainder Of The Season

Paula Pasche reports that the Lions offensive coordinator Scott Linehan said that the Lions “fully expect” Jahvid Best to return this season.

Best and the Lions will be very cautious once he’s able to return to the practice field but at least there’s some hope for him returning and helping the Lions get into the playoffs.

Mike Freeman of CBSSports.com reports that Detroit Lions RB Jahvid Best is being urged to sit out the remaider of the season from people close to him because the concussion problems that he has been dealing with.

Best has had a history of concussion throughout his college and pro career. He actually suffered a concussion before the season started which raises the level of concern regarding his long term health.

Best mentioned earlier in the week that he’s unsure as to when he’ll be able to return to the field.

As of right now I’m just taking it day by day,” said Best.

The Lions’ trade for Ronnie Brown has been voided because Jerome Harrison failed his physical. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that doctors found a brain tumor during Harrison’s physical which may have saved his life.

Detroit will look to Maurice Morris for the time being until they can figure out how long Best will be out.
