The Detroit Lions officially re-signed TE Jerome Cunningham to their practice squad on Saturday and released RB Joel Bouagnon from the unit.

Cunningham, 27, originally signed on with the Giants as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Connecticut Stat back in 2014. He was, unfortunately, unable to make the 53-man roster that year, but was later added to the Giants practice squad.
Cunningham had a brief stint with the Jets before he was claimed off of waivers by the Titans. He returned to Tennessee on a future/reserve contract last year but was on and off of the Titans’ practice squad.
The Lions signed Cunningham to their practice squad a few weeks into the regular season before just recently cutting him loose.
In 2015, Cunningham appeared nineย games and recorded eight catches for 59ย yards receiving and no touchdowns.
Bouagnon, 223, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Bears as an undrafted free agent out of Northern Illinois back in 2017.ย The Bears waived him with an injury designation during the and he later reverted to the team’s injured reserve list before he was eventually cut loose withย an injury settlement.
The Packers signedย Bouagnon to a futures contract with past January only to waive him coming out of the preseason. He just recently signed on to the Lions’ practice squad.
During his college career, Bouagnon rushed for 2,912 yards on 600 carries (4.9 YPC) to go along with 44 receptions for 368 yards receiving and 34 total touchdowns over the course of four seasons and 43 games.
