The Detroit Lions announced Friday that they’ve signed G Salesi Uhatafe to their practice squad and released WR Deontez Alexander from the unit.

- G Salesi Uhatafe
Alexander wound up signing on with the Lions as an undrafted free agent out of Franklin back in May. He agreed to a three-year, $1.71 million contract with the Lions, but was unfortunately waived with an injury designation during the preseason and later reverted to their injured reserve list.
The Lions waived Alexander from injured reserve with a settlement soon after. He was signed to their practice squad a few weeks ago.
During his two years at Franklin, Alexander caught 114 passes for 2,133 yards receiving to go along with 33 touchdowns over the course of 21 games.
